Dear Samirah,
I had until now never really tried to learn a new language from scratch. It was and still is something I think is something I think of as very difficult to do. But, after only 14 hours of lessons with you, I feel as though I was able to get a small grasp on what the Arabic spoken language is like and to be able to understand simple sentences that may be of help for me if I am to travel to an Arabic nation at a later time.
The way you go about teaching languages is almost the opposite of how the Norwegian school system does it. They have a way to focus too much on the written rules rather than the ability of the student to actually speak the language after three years of school. I quiet liked the way you only taught us Arabic phonetically as I was able to really feel that I had accomplished something in the few hours we had.
Your lessons where easy to follow. You where able to answer questions in a way that made the language seem a bit easier to understand and you didn’t take us for fools, you went forward at a high speed and that is good, as it makes everything more fun and challenging to learn. That you made us build sentences and answer questions in full with counter questions forced us to look outside of the papers you had given us and to use everything we had learned every lesson to be able to answer everything correctly. I am now very happy I went to all the lessons you were able to offer us!
I sincerely hope that you were able to arrive safely back in Gaza and that you are allowed to keep teaching both sides of the wall the languages they should know to be able to form a dialog and maybe in the future create a better life between the people. I hope that Hamaz does not stop the great work you are doing for the people around you, and I hope that I one day may be able to visit the Abraham center.

Yours sincerely,
Katarina B. Skogstrøm
